ArcelorMittal Brasil is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact and also supports the Millennium Development Goals defined by the UN in 2000.
In Brazil, the company was one of the first signatories of the Business Pact for Integrity and Against Corruption, an initiative of the Ethos Institute of Business and Social Responsibility and of the United Nations Development Plan among other entities. The pact establishes guidelines to be followed by the institutions aiming to assure an ethical relationship with the Public Power.
In addition to strictly following the guidelines proposed by the International Labor Organization (ILO)’s Statement on principles and fundamental rights at work, ArcelorMittal Brasil repudiates child labor and extends such position towards its business partners and communities. There is no operation at the company which represents risk of child labor occurrence.
