Culture

The actions in the cultural area are aimed at the internal public and families and also the communities where the ArcelorMittal Brasil units are located. In 2008, cultural investments amounted more than R$ 10 million, and the highlight was the ArcelorMittal Culture Program, that aims at increasing the access of the communities to cultural goods and services, besides promoting projects to form managers and artists. The Program also includes a free schedule of workshops and shows in the municipalities where the Foundation operates - in 2007 and 2008, 28 municipalities of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Bahia, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro joined cultural initiatives.

At ArcelorMittal Tubarão, the Christmas Concert performed every year is open to the public and involves the company choir as well as presentations of social projects supported by the company and it is part of the cultural calendar of Vitória, in Espírito Santo state.

ArcelorMittal Vega develops projects aimed at the community, among them the project "São Francisco no Cinema", with movie projections for the local community.
