ur strategy of intentionally disseminating the concept of sustainability through education implies the creation of mechanisms that ensure increasing interaction among stakeholders in a transparent, plural, and ethical way. Maintaining a global view that is simultaneously focused on local issues, the companies that form Arcelor Brasil make consistent and continuous investments directed at creating relationship networks among their various affiliations. This strengthens our economic, social, and environmental results.
Among our investments, we favor the development of field research, carried on to learn about the reality and expectations of our different strategic clients. Thus, it is possible to direct specific activities towards forecasting supply and demands and creating partnership networks. The Program on Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (SRE) is an example of this vision. This pioneer program was created at Belgo, aimed at sharing and encouraging socially responsible practices among clients, suppliers, and distribution networks.
In 2005, Arcelor Brasil started developing the Program for Stakeholders Engagement at CST, directed at broadening the actions carried out since 1996 through the Research conducted on the Identification of Stakeholders' Expectations. The first stage of this program was concluded in December with the presentation of the Report on Stakeholders Mapping, which updated the identification of various clients, as well as their most important demands. Its results will guide the relationship management with different partners, enabling us to define priorities, goals, and targets for future social and environmental investments.
